UPI picked the story and included the opine by an LA psychiatrist -
Dr. Carole Lieberman, a Los Angeles psychiatrist who specializes in rape cases, told the newspaper (Arizona Republic) that rape is usually an impulsive crime.
"He seems to be trying to make a point," Lieberman says. "Maybe he was raped when he was neglected by his parents. He wants to identify with the aggressor, the person who attacked him, by finding victims in a similar situation."
The Arizona Republic posted a nice overview of the case and ongoing efforts.
